A Morning of Empowerment with Yogi Tao Porchon-Lynch

Staying young at heart is a familiar adage to many, but, Tao Porchon-Lynch is living proof that age can be just a number. The 97-year-old yoga master is an inspiration to millions and has quite an impressive resume. The list includes: award-winning author, activist, former fashion model, actress, and film producer, to name a few. So, it comes as no surprise that she is best known for her messages of Oneness and for her illustration of vivacious living.

A week before her 98th birthday, Tao was visiting New York City to share her personal success story with the pioneering members of the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED), founded by Wendy Diamond. It is not every day that one gets to meet and train with the “Oldest Living Yoga Teacher
,” according to the Guinness Book of World Records, and the experience proved to be just as remarkable as one would imagine.

Tao showed a room full of inspired women how to cultivate their inner spark through self-nurture and offered tips on how to manage stress calmly and gracefully. My favorite statement by Tao was: “Yoga is the essence of the dawn of life and it sparkles inwardly. Dancing is the champagne of life that sparkles outwardly.”

True beauty is revealed less through how you look and more through your energetic presence. Therefore, focus on your inner sparkle because outer beauty only pleases the eye while inner beauty captivates the heart! An equally important lesson, that is essential to long-term happiness, is that of waking up and living every day as if it is the best day of your life. When a positive outlook on life is established, and your core intention is filled with mindfulness and compassion, anything is possible.

I highly recommend joining the WED Breakfast Series, which features empowering women—business moguls, entrepreneurs, and philanthropists—who share their personal success stories to inspire and motivate women to give back to society.
