Bullied to Beautiful – An Event You Won’t Want to MissNobody likes a Bully: Stop Bullying and Spread Beauty! Bullied to Beautiful January 31, 2017 Starting at 7pm The Metropolitan Room | New York, NY Get Tickets Here! Lisa Jason, a celebrated cabaret singer, is using her voice to empower those who have been silenced by bullying. A portion of proceeds from the “Bullied to Beautiful” cabaret will be donated to "NO BULLY,” which is a US-based social change organization that trains schools to activate student empathy to stop bullying and cyberbullying. The Inspiration Behind the Show: Lisa Jason spent her childhood years being relentlessly bullied, after moving to a small town in Massachusetts. She found sanctuary in the music of the nineteen-seventies, which helped her to escape the world outside. Ryan Shirar’s original arrangements of such hits as, “Rainy Days and Mondays,” “My Heart Belongs to Me,” and “Cats in the Cradle,” adds the color and texture to Lisa’s story, as she paints a picture of her, at times heartbreaking, journey and brings the issue of bullying back into the forefront, which continues to be a major issue around the world. Lisa’s inspiring story and efforts shows that bullying can affect anyone, and more importantly, it shows that anyone has the power to fight back and to help stop bullying from destructing the lives of others. The decision to get involved in a cause and to effect change may not be an easy one to make, but it is one that will make a positive difference in the lives of others, as well as your own. #TRUECares: People who are catalysts for positive changes in the world, like Lisa Jason, have inspired TRUE’s philanthropic initiative, #TRUECares and newest model division called TRUECares. TRUECares was founded as a way to promote and acknowledge models who are making positive impacts in the world and giving back to communities through charity. The "Bullied to Beautiful" campaign shares our mission to better the world by empowering people while embracing their differences. During my pre-teenage years, I was teased, suffered from low self-esteem, and lacked confidence. My experiences fueled my passion to utilize TRUE as a platform to support and give voices to and support those in need. Please JOIN US on January 31,2017 for a night of music that will make a difference! Lend your voice to those in need by raising awareness about bullying and celebrating the uniqueness in others - nobody likes a bully and there is beauty to be found in all!
